Motto: “construction, our priority”

INTRODUCTION

The Polytechnic Association of Construction Students Ghana is one of Ghana’s most vibrant and influential polytechnic student group. The group is located in all the 10 polytechnics in Ghana.

PACONS is organized as a constituent local and national organization of the construction students in Ghana’s polytechnics in all over the region with the vision of linking up with all other polytechnics throughout the country.

PACONS has occasionally been engaged in deliberations for national development. The association organizes educative programs which are meant to groom and sharpen students in their field, such programs are: seminars, Industrial Trips to companies who are into construction works and production. Entertainment programs are also organized to help students relieve stresses, such programs are: Social mix, Pacons Games (Sports), etc.

COLOURS:

Yellow: symbolizing the instruments and equipment in the construction industry.

Ash: symbolizes construction materials.

Slogans:      PACONS !     .....Nation builders !

MISSION AND VISION OF PACONS

A.   To seek and protect the general welfare of the members of the association and to advice in such matters relating to the welfare of PACONS.

B.    To coordinate with other student organization in Ghana and elsewhere in matters of mutual interest.

C.    To encourage and promote the spirit of professionalism sweeping across all spheres of life by linking the students to various professional bodies locally and internationally.

D.   To represent and safeguard the interest and welfare of students and foster a national relationship among students of various tertiary institutions in this discipline.

3.    Ghana Institute of Builders (GIOB)

             4.    Chartered Institute of Builders – UK (CIOB)

MEMBERSHIP / QUALIFICATION AND ADMISSION

Any student offering any construction related course in the polytechnic

1. Full-time HND Building Technology (level 100, 200 & 300 students)

2. Part-time HND Building Technology (level 100, 200 & 300 students) and

3. Construction Technician Course (C.T.C. I & II) is eligible to become an automatic member.
